The CCTV Tower in Beijing is often overlooked as a tourist attraction, which is hardly surprisingly, given that it competes with tourist destinations such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen and the Great Wall. Beijing can also be quite smoggy, so it is a bit hard to imagine having panoramic city views from the top of a building. Having said that however, on a clear day, the CCTV Tower is well worth a visit as you do get impressive views of the city. Whilst you may not be able to identify famous Beijing landmarks you do a get a sense of how huge and sprawling Beijing is.
The tower has two observation decks, one of which has a revolving restaurant. The all-inclusive ticket of 108 yuan is good value for money, as it grants you access to the observation deck as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner in the revolving restaurant (drinks cost extra though). If you wish to go to the observation deck only and skip dinner, entrance is 50 yuan.
