Green Vine Study
The Green Vine Study (Qingteng shuwu) is located on Shaoxing's Qianguan Lane, a small alley hidden one hundred meters south of Renmin Lu. It consists of two parts, a quiet courtyard, and two common houses in traditional Chinese style. The Green Vine Study was once the home of the eccentric Ming painter and dramatist, Xu Wei, one of the ten famous painters of ancient China. He was endowed with extraordinary talents and recognized as a great artist and writer. The house reveals the story of Xu Wei's unfortunate life and some of his brushes, paintings and calligraphy are still on display here.
