Heavenly Terrace Peak (Tiantai Feng)
Tiantai Peak (Tiantai feng), although not the tallest in Jiuhuashan, is generally regarded as the main peak. This was the place that the Korean monk Kim Kiao Kak (Jin Qiaojue), believed to the the avatar of the Bodhisattva Dizang, came to practice the asceticism that was later to allow him to establish Buddhism as the primary religion on Jiuhuashan.
This is the area that the most pious are all heading to, and to commemorate the great achievements and the wise enlightenment of Kim, a temple, called either Heavenly Terrace Temple (Tiantai si) or Dizang Temple (Dizang si), was built for these Buddhists to remember him.
From the top of the peak, it is possible to see both the Dragon Head Peak (Longtou feng) to the left and the Dragon Ball Peak (Longzhu feng) to the right, peaks that were given their name from the belief that Jiuhuashan is the incarnation of a blue dragon.
